Submissions

La Vida Magazine has been a place where Latinx issues and voices can be addressed and heard. If you have a personal story to share about anything Latinx-related, this is a channel where you can make your voice heard. We encourage both creative and critical pieces. La Vida aims to allow the many experiences of students to understand, grow, and appreciate a common Latinx culture.

Anyone can submit to La Vida Magazine by emailing lavidaupenn@gmail.com.

What can you submit?

Writing

Any Languages Welcome.

Creative Prose: Short Fiction, Short Non-Fiction, Poetry, Personal Essays.

Critical Prose: Journalism, Analysis, Reflections.

Visual

Drawing, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Comics.

Online

Song, Dance, Spoken Word Performance, Blog Posts.

Submission Process

Submit.

Submissions must be sent to lavidaupenn@gmail.com by February 29, 2021. Please indicate if you would like to submit your piece for the website or the print magazine.

Round 1.

Staff will choose from submission pool.

Edits.

Submissions that pass Round 1 are suggested to make final edits to their pieces for entry into Round 2.

Round 2.

The submissions that passed Round 1 and return with edits will be voted on by the staff for the final round.

Confirmation.

When the voting period is over, those who entered Round 2 will be notified if their submission was accepted.
